So, can this city in which taxes are low and personal freedoms are high combined with bitcoin being legal tender become a model for the rest of Honduras?

This is the big question, and Zussel's answer is "yes."

After years of teaching people about Bitcoin, organizing the Indonesia Bitcoin conference, and working for a Bitcoin company (Fedi), she's learned that you have to speak from your heart when you explain Bitcoin to people if you want them to grasp it.

In our interview, we discuss this in greater detail as well as the macroeconomic situation in Indonesia and how even the Indonesian crypto "gamblers" are starting to look at bitcoin as something different than all other crypto assets.

"We're all Lebanese. Most just don't know it yet."

This is how Jan 3 founder Samson Mow responded to a tweet thread on the economic situation in Lebanon from Sooly Kobayashi — a consultant, entrepreneur and investor in the Bitcoin space.

What Mow was insinuating was that the fiat system is going to catch up with all of us eventually — that we'll all see our lives financially upended, just as the Lebanese currently are, because of excess money printing and poor fiscal policy.

Luckily for Lebanon, they have citizens like Sooly who are investing in the Bitcoin ecosystem so to make it more accessible to the Lebanese and to many in the Global South who will benefit from access to it.

In our interview, we discuss the macroeconomic situation in Lebanon, what Bitcoin adoption there looks like and why Bitcoin is Sooly's ikigai.

Bitcoin Dadas don't play.

"Dada" is Swahili for "sister", and the Bitcoin Dada program — which is based in Kenya, but serves women all over Africa — not only helps to financially empower women, but to create a sisterhood among those who participate in the program.

In this interview, we speak with two recent Bitcoin Dada graduates — Edith Mpumwire of Uganda and Mary Usaji of Kenya — who share why Bitcoin is particularly important for women and how it helps people in their respective countries.

In the second part of the interview, we also do a role play in which I (Frank, the host of the podcast) pretend to be a Bitcoin skeptic and these two ladies convince me why I'm wrong in calling Bitcoin a scam.

Willem Schroé is a cryptographer and hardcore Bitcoiner who's on the verge of making bitcoin a currency capable of fueling transactions via the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) through the use of spiderchains.

Put another way, Willem's company Botanix is building a Layer 2 on Bitcoin on which bitcoin (BTC) will be used instead of ether (ETH) when transacting on the dApps, DEXes, etc. that currently exist on Ethereum.

And the best part is, no changes will need to be made to the base layer of Bitcoin in order for this new functionality to exist.

Now, he's based in the United States and is a McCourt Scholar in a Data Science for Public Policy program at Georgetown University, a contributor to Bitcoin Magazine, Human Rights Fellow at the Bitcoin Policy Institute and an advocate for how Bitcoin can be a boon for human rights.

Lorraine Marcel believes that if we're ever going to reach hyperbitcoinization, women are going to need to be a part of the Bitcoin space.

Hence she started Bitcoin Dada ("Dada" means "sister" in Swahili) to educate the young women or Kenya, and now other African countries, about what Bitcoin is and how to use it.

She also recently hosted the launch party for Machankura Kenya, which was a smashing success.

She claims that some her courage and boldness in hosting this launch party as well as starting Bitcoin Dada came from the creator of Bitcoin his/her/theirself — Satoshi Nakamoto — as she wants to help fulfill Nakamoto's vision for a currency that everyone in the world can use to transact with each other permissionlessly.

Mauricio Di Bartolomeo believes that it's essential to understand the nature of money if you want to be financially successful.

Growing up in Venezuela and witnessing his country's political and economic systems unravel, Mauricio learned the hard way that hard work doesn't matter much if you save in fiat.

In 2015, his brother discovered Bitcoin and started mining it.

Upon witnessing his brother's success as a Bitcoin miner, Mauricio found his calling and started Ledn, a Bitcoin lending company (and more), by 2018. In our interview, he shares his journey in greater detail and bestows upon the listener the many lessons he's learned about money along the way.

He's teaching the youth of a township in South Africa how to do two very difficult things: understand Bitcoin and surf.

He does this work two programs that compliment one another — Bitcoin Ekasi and the Surfer Kids non-profit.

In this interview you'll learn about how Luthando helped developed Bitcoin's Ekasi's circular bitcoin economy, how Bitcoin Ekasi and the Surfer Kids non-profit are bringing hope to a small township in Mossel Bay, South Africa, and how Bitcoin and surfing can catalyze personal growth.

Luthando's story is inspiring to say the least.

What he's doing has captured the hearts and minds of many far beyond the parameters of the township in which he lives and works.

Kemal ' El Flako' Yaşar is an model Bitcoiner.

He discovered Bitcoin almost 10 years ago when he began using the network for remittance payments.

Not long after, he began participating in a Bitcoin meet-up in Munich, Germany (one of the oldest Bitcoin meet-ups; it started in 2010).

After years of educating people in Germany's Bitcoin scene, Kemal and his family moved to Istanbul, Turkey, where they currently reside.

In Turkey, Kemal helped found and educates people through the Yirmibir ("21", in Turkish) Bitcoin Community.

And most of his time is dedicated to his work for Galoy — a Bitcoin-focused company that provides banking services to Bitcoin users. Galoy is well-known for creating the Blink Wallet (formerly called the "Bitcoin Beach" wallet), which is the primary wallet used by those in the El Zonte ("Bitcoin Beach") community in El Salvador, as well as Stablesats, which allows people to hold synthetic US dollars on the Bitcoin network.

Kemal is also the co-organizer of Adopting Bitcoin, a Bitcoin/Lightning Network summit in which Bitcoiners from around the world come together to educate one another, brainstorm and collaborate in efforts to help foster greater Bitcoin adoption. The next Adopting Bitcoin conference will be held in San Salvador, El Salvador from November 7th to 9th.
